A British woman has died while sitting next to her teenage daughter in a chair lift on a skiing holiday in the Alps.
Cheryl Fairbrother, 45, had gone on a week's skiing holiday to Serre Chevalier resort on the south east of France, where her daughter Jade, 19, was working.
The pair ascended on Monetier's L'Yret lift, but Cheryl complained of feeling dizzy before passing out, according to the Daily Mail.
Efforts to resuscitate her in the chair and at the summit failed, and she died on the way to the hospital.
Cheryl, from West Yorkshire, had flown to the resort with her partner of more than 25 years, Stephen Ramsden, who was skiing on another slope when the tragedy happened.
Family members have expressed their distress and shock, saying that Cheryl was extremely fit, sporty and healthy with no known health problems.
A cause of death has yet to be identified.
