Energy prices double in six years

UK home energy bills have almost doubled in the last six years, rocketing by £599 or 91% - from £660 a year in 2006 to £1,259 a year, so claims uSwitch. Now there's a spate of price cuts from energy companies - but don't hold your breath.

These cuts are tiny when compared to the two rounds of price rises we've experienced since the end of 2010.
