Could you be a spy? Take the test

It seems like the stuff that every internet-obsessed, bedroom-dwelling geeky teenager dreams of. MI5 has launched an online quiz to determine whether you would make a good spy.

Those who do well enough in the quiz may even be invited for a job interview at Spook central.

Online test

According to the Daily Mail, the security agency has launched the test online here. It will take around 15 minutes to complete, and is genuinely a first step in the process of applying to become a spy.

The test is designed to exercise your brain rather than your brawn - so there won't be any high-octane shoot-outs. Instead, it will offer the sort of situation that desk-based officers come across every day.

The test simulates a situation where a number of foreign spies in London have been ordered home and MI5 is trying to discover why - and whether the move constitutes a threat. If you sign up for the test you'll be given case files on two of the agents, information from an undercover agent, and media reports. At the end of the test you will be given four questions to answer - worth up to eight points each.

Apply to be a spy

Only those who receive high enough scores will be directed to the applications section of the MI5 website.

Of course, at this stage you still have to wow in the more traditional recruitment process, completing a form and then attending interviews and assessments. Even if you are the most talented geeky teen the service has ever come across, it's fairly unlikely you will be given a licence to kill and a string of beauties by the end of the week.

However, if you are genuinely interested, think you could be an ideal candidate and fancy a challenge, it could be a handy foot in the door.

So what do you think? Do you have what it takes to be a spy?
