The scandal of the Poly Implant Prothese silicone implants, made with non-medical-grade silicone, continues apace. Now the government has announced that it will pay for the removal of any of the implants put in by the NHS. It will replace not only those in medical danger from rupturing, but any that women are worried about. It is expected to cost millions.

However, this isn't the end of it, because it may also have to pay for replacements for thousands of women who had the procedure carried out privately too.
