One gorgeous beluga has a whale of a time waving at passing tourists - as she blows 'halo' bubbles simultaneously.

The beautiful pictures of the 10-year-old white whale were taken by photographer Hiroya Minakuchi at Kamogawa Sea World in Kamogawa, east of Tokyo, in Japan on Christmas Day.

This beluga has perfected the technique over the last three years, but it is not the first time the behaviour has been seen in this intelligent species that usually live in the Arctic Ocean.

The whale uses her mouth to blow water into a current, and then breathes through her blowhole to create the ring shape.

Belugas are known for their playful nature, and are believed to be able to chatter amongst themselves in the wild.
