Holly Valance celebrates Christmas (and her engagement) in the Maldives

The Maldives is known as one of the most romantic holiday destinations in the world.

So it's nice surprise that Holly Valance's billionaire boyfriend Nick Candy decided to get down on one knee and propose to her there.

The newly-engaged couple headed to the Indian Ocean paradise for a Christmas break after the actress spent the last couple of months undergoing gruelling training sessions for Strictly Come Dancing.

And they certainly seem to be enjoying themselves. The former Neighbours actress tweeted a photo of herself by the couple's private pool today, and wrote: 'Happy Boxing Day from Paradise! Still can't believe I'm gettin' hitched! This guy's got conjones!! ♥'

Money will be no object for the wedding, as the luxury property developer, who runs the firm Candy & Candy with is brother, has a £9 billion global property portfolio, and owns a luxury home in Monaco as well as a £50 million superyacht.

Sigh.
