What a year 2011 was. It was great for bankers and fat cats and a few millionaires. But for many of us it was one long litany of lamentable losses.

2011 was a bad year for families, women, young people, relatives of the dead, benefit claimants, Equitable Life policyholders, people living in flood zones, public sector workers, bank PPI customers and Londoners.
