World's priciest cities to rent property

Monaco harbourA sprinkling of familiar city names - London, for example - figure in the top twenty most expensive cities to rent property in a Telegraph survey. Top of the pile is Monaco. For a decent city centre property in this tax haven, prepare to cough up almost £6,000 for an average 1291 sq ft apartment (120 sq.m). But there are surprising bargains elsewhere - with fantastic culture, climate and architecture thrown in. Let's take a look.


City pads - for how much?

London remains still close to the top at number two at £5,683, with Bermuda and New York not far behind. Geneva, surprisingly, appears more of a bargain at number 10 where it will cost you around £3,000 a month for a generous-sized apartment.

If you can stand the chill, Helsinki is even better value for money at £2,085 a month. But Amsterdam - £1,972 a month - stands out as best value. A full £3,711 cheaper a month than London.
