Westminster Council backs down on weekend and evening parking charges

Last month we reported that Westminster Council was planning to implement a 'tax on nightlife' with evening and weekend parking charges. This morning London's Mayor, Boris Johnson, tweeted that the council has revoked the plans.

The Mayor used the social networking site to say: "Well done Westminster for dropping parking charges. Right thing for London".
