You never have to feel guilty about buying yourself a bottle of perfume or a pair of sunglasses at the airport ever again...

One tourist has set a record purchase by snapping up six bottles of top-notch duty free wine for nearly €50,000 (£42, 320) at Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The record sale included a Romanee Conti 1995, a Chateau Margaux 2003, two bottles of Chateau Lafitte 1982 and two bottles of Petrus 1980 going in his shopping bag.

The buyer, described as being of Asian descent, beat the previous duty free record buy of €30,000 (£25,400) on three bottles of wine in 2010.

The Christmas season is very popular for wine sales, and Charles de Gaulle sells around 400,000 bottles of Champagne every year, according to the Metro.

But that's what we call really treating yourself...
