Shoppers are fleeing the highstreet and flocking to the web, where Amazon made a record 3 million transactions last Monday – up from 2.3 million on the same day last year.

Dubbed 'cyber Monday' – the first Monday in December was the busiest day of the year for internet shoppers who wish to ensure their order arrives in time for Christmas.
