There was once a time when sales were big and unusual events. The Boxing Day sales actually started on Boxing Day, when people would be queuing round the corner for a genuine bargain. Now the high street is packed with sales every week.

So we must be getting year round bargains, right? Well not if we fall for the retailers' tricks.
