New Mercedes SL goes back to Sport Lightweight roots

Mercedes latest SL will go back to the origins of the hallowed boot badge with an 8% reduction in weight.

'SL' always stood for Sport Leightweight (well, actually Sport Leicht in German, but not far off), but over the years the big two-seater roadster from the Stuttgart firm has put on more than a few pounds.
