Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy: First drive

The new Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy promises to offer a lot as Renault's flagship hot hatch. With limited numbers (only 50 Trophy editions available in the UK) and a record time for the Nurburgring, is it worth the extra cash? I went to Leicestershire to find out.

The first thing that stands out is the colour. Liquid yellow is the preferred choice for fast Renaults over the last few years and it suits this model rather well. The diamond black roof (a £415 extra) and black alloys are an alluring contrast, while the big red Brembo brakes jump out at you and give an explicit sign of the car's potential.
