Pay-as-you-go 'fat cat fast lanes' planned by Govt

In a move that could well be slammed as just another way to tax motorists, the Government is planning to have a nationwide network of toll lanes built on motorways.

The lanes will be built by private contractors and added to existing roads, aimed at both alleviating traffic congestion and stimulating economic growth. Profit generated by the so-called express lanes will directed back into the private sector.
