Should we hide money from our partner?

Mutual trust and respect: it's the basis of any relationship. We trust our partners implicitly, tell them all our secrets, and are open and honest about everything... except money. A study has revealed that 15% of Britons over the age of 40 and living with their partner choose to keep some or all of their savings hidden from their spouse or partner.

So why do we have a secret stash? And is it really so bad?
