Broadband speeds are in the news again - this time comparison site Uswitch has noticed a huge drop-off in speed in the evening. This had been noticed by many for a long time - I've been telling people since the 1990s, honest - but now it's been measured.

We drop 33% of our Internet speeds in the evening, just when we're likely to be at home and watching services like iPlayer (other catch-up services are available).
