Some parts of the country seem to be having an oddly balmy time of it at the moment, but the freezing weather is just around the corner, and when it finally kicks in we're in for a very rude shock.

Fortunately the fact that the weather has been so mild so far means we have been given a little longer to get our homes ready for winter, and avoid them bearing the brunt of the cold. And there are five key jobs we need to do right now.
