Second practice: McLaren lead in Abu Dhabi
Dusk had already fallen as second practice got underway in Abu Dhabi, and the session ended under the glare of floodlights. Lewis Hamilton took fastest time from McLaren team-mate Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso, who crashed into the barriers as practice was drawing to a close, leading to a premature end to the session for the Ferrari driver.
Sebastian Vettel had lost control of his car at the same spot a few minutes earlier. The world champion slid sideways into the barriers, but mechanics were able to repair the RB7 in time and Vettel went back out with eight minutes remaining on the clock.
Mark Webber too, who finished in fifth place, had a scary moment during the second session; he spun and couldn't avoid hitting the crash barriers. Apart from drivers spinning, Ferrari once again made spectators look twice in amazement as Massa's front wing wobbled like mad, causing sparks to fly. The Brazilian driver went on to secure fourth best time.
Michael Schumacher, placed only 15th in first practice, moved up into P7 during FP2. Adrian Sutil, Paul di Resta and Kamui Kobayashi completed the Top Ten.
