With the cost of a tank of petrol expected to hit £100 by 2015, more than half of today's drivers could be forced to change their cars to cut costs, a new report has revealed.

More than 50% of 4,000 motorists polled by British Car Auctions (BCA) said they would switch to a more fuel-efficient car if the cost of a tank hit three figures. Around a fifth thought they'd reach this point when fuel hit £1.30 a litre, but should this increase to £1.50 a litre a further 15% said they'd also be looking to change cars.
