Christmas spending 'up 1% to £682'

Families will spend almost £700 this Christmas, including gifts, decorations and food and drink, marginally more than last year despite the continuing tough economic climate, a new report has predicted.

Shopping comparison site Kelkoo said spending will rise by 1%, with gifts accounting for two-thirds of the total amount.
