Ryanair to launch on-board wi-fi

Ryanair is set to launch on-board wi-fi so passengers can surf the net mid-flight.

In a move that Ryanair hopes will mimic 'hotel services', passengers would be able to log into a Ryanair app with their iPads or smartphones to watch movies, play games or gamble.

But some critics are worried the move could introduce the notion of watching 'plane porn'.

Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary told The Sun: 'I'm not talking about having it on screens on the back of seats for everyone to see. It would be on handheld devices.

'Hotels around the world have it, so why wouldn't we?'

The low-budget airline says the plan could take at least a year to launch because of the huge cost of securing a powerful enough connection for its planes.

The cost to the passenger for the service has not yet been confirmed.

While the majority of that came from handling more passengers - up 12% to 44.7million, its paid-for priority seating also proved a hit, according to the Mirror.
