If you can't afford to take a driving test, why not take to the road anyway? It's what increasing amounts of people are doing, if new research is to believed. According to figures from the Department for Transport, between April and August this year, fewer than 640,000 driving tests were taken in the UK. A huge 15% drop when compared with the same period in 2009 when learner drivers sat almost 750,000 tests.
