Unwelcome US consumer confidence figures helped drag the FTSE 100 down yesterday. The main board finished at 5,525, 22 points down. The dramatic cancelling of Europe's finance ministers will now likely mean more volatility, keeping markets on edge - a solution is still some way off. The uncertainty kicked France particularly hard yesterday, with the CAC 40 slipping 1.4%.
