No more posh cars for the disabled

Updated

What took Motability so long? The state-funded charity - it costs around £1.5bn to fun a year - has put a stop to the number of luxury cars available to scheme members. So no more, for example, £37,000 Toyota Land Cruisers or a £37k Audi A6 will be available. £25,000 will be the limit. A welcome move, given increasing abuse of the system, as well as a large rise in membership of the scheme, including families with out-of-control children.
