The Queen is surely suffering a bit of neck strain after chatting to a 7ft tall basketplayer at a reception thrown in her honour during her tour of Canberra, Australia.

Elizabeth Cambage, who is 7ft in heels and 6ft 8in without, was representing the sporting world at the exclusive dinner at Parliament House in Canberra thrown by Prime Minister Julia Gillard for the visiting Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.

The 20-year-old plays basketball for Melbourne's Bulleen Boomers for part of the year, and represents US team Tulsa Shock for the other.

According to the Mirror, she said of meeting the Queen: 'Julia Gillard brought her over to me and she looked up at me and said 'you must be a basketball player'.

'I said, "how can you tell?" and the Queen replied, "you must find it very easy". We had a little chuckle and she moved on.

'She was lovely and so sweet, very Queenie. She carries herself with so much grace and has time for everyone.'

The Queen has so far been enjoying many of Australia's sights on her 11-day trip, including their version of the Chelsea Flower Show, Floriade.

Among the list of things on her busy itinerary for the rest of the trip are visits to Brisbane, where she will visit the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, and Melbourne, where the Queen will attend the opening of the Royal Children's Hospital, as well as a trip on a Melbourne tram and a visit to the National Gallery of Victoria.
