Tourist Hendrik Raven became the unfortunate victim of 'monkey mugging' as he pulled over to take some snaps at a beauty spot in Cape Town.

A cheeky baboon raided his car for food, near Cape Point on the outskirts of Cape Town, South Africa - and went ape when Hendrik tried to stop him.

Baboon burglars are somewhat of a hazard in the area, so much so that a number of workers are employed as baboon monitors to prevent them raiding cars, houses, and dust bins.

One monkey was even put down earlier this year, after one assault too many.

The baboon monitors spend their days following baboon troops across the Cape Peninsula to ensure they don't go nuts on other people's property.

Looks like they were on a break...
