Lord Sugar blast for 'expectancy culture'

It seems strange that Lord Sugar's latest outburst is aimed at what he calls 'the expectancy culture' particularly when shows like The Young Apprentice are actually part of the problem.

Because while he's slating the idle youth for lacking drive and simply standing there with their hands out, he's heading up another reality TV show that awards £25,000 to one individual who manages to convince him that they possess the one quality he prizes – that is, the ability to sell.

While he says that he drip-feeds the money into the successful candidate's planned business venture, it's still the blessing and backing of a wealthy, high-profile businessman that is just not readily available to some school-leaver from Cumbria.
