Test case for public libaries blown apart

How much are local libraries worth? Not much. Look at Brent Council's decision to shutter six of them. A High Court ruling saw hundreds of protestors, including the likes of Nick Cave, the Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, attempt to challenge the ruling. One of the Brent libraries was even opened by Mark Twain in the 1900s. But Brent Council claims it needs to make £104m in savings.
