Shortly after BBC Worldwide bosses rushed out a new satnav system voiced by Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, they realised they had broken their own editorial guidelines.

They had been so keen to get the gadget on the shelves in time for Christmas that they forget to check their own rules which state that the programme must not endorse any motoring products. As a result they have had to halt production of the gadget, but 54,000 have already reached the shops.
