Hamilton lacked pace

2011 is not Lewis Hamilton's season. Collisions and disappointments pave the champion's path – which is how it turned out at Suzuka. "My race was a disaster, it was another tough weekend for me," he admitted ruefully. "I'm not a bit happy, it was a disappointing race."

Apart from the latest collision with Felipe Massa, Hamilton was bothered by one other thing: Team-mate Jenson Button securing his third win of the season. Hamilton: "Jenson drove a remarkable race today. I'd hoped to find more pace at some point, but simply lacked grip. I couldn't keep up with anyone today."
