Four workers have been killed and another three injured after an arch over a hotel entrance collapsed on Thursday.

The accident happened in East China's Jiangxi Province at 12.45pm, when seven workers set about building the arch.

Two were killed instantly at the scene, and another two later died in hospital, according to China Daily.

The severity of the injuries of the other three workers is unknown, and an investigation into the cause of the accident is under way.
