No Assange fillip for the book market

Even the much-publicised release of the memoirs of Julian Assange (left) could not bring the book market out of the doldrums in September. The latest Nielsen Bookscan figures show spending on books down £2.9m on last year, and the Assange book shifted just 644 copies in its first three days on sale.
