His 'cheesy' in-flight security video for Qantas was recently dropped, but aviation-lover John Travolta has found a new job - as the brand ambassador for the new Bombardier planes.

The Hollywood actor, who is still also brand ambassador for Qantas and currently owns and flies a vintage Boeing 707-138B painted in Qantas colours, was chosen for being an 'icon' and a 'knowledgable aviator'.

John kicked off his duties by promoting Bombardier's Learjet, Challenger and global business jets at Hanger 25 in Burbank Airport at the Bombardier Business Aircraft Press Conference in Los Angeles

Bombardier Business Aircraft president Steve Ridolfi said: 'John is both a film icon and knowledgeable aviator. He also recently added the Challenger aircraft to the impressive list of 11 different jets he is qualified to fly, an aircraft that offers him the ability to meet his passion for aviation and demanding business travel requirements all in one.

'We are thrilled to have him as our brand ambassador.'

Finger crossed they don't ask him to star in any in-flight films...
