It might not be the first place that springs to mind when thinking about pooch pampering, but the Philippines has seen a big boost in 'dog spas' - offering everything from hair dyeing to mutt manicures.

Bonita, a three-month-old pomeranian pup, enjoyed a nice blow dry after having a bath at the spa, where she also 'enjoyed' a mutt-have massage (yes, really) and a coat colour tint.

Another fellow pomeranian pooch also sat back and relaxed while having her nails done in every dog's favourite colour, pink.

Rates at the spa in Quezon City start from £6 and go up to £40 for an overnight accommodation.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for the perfect place for a UK weekend break with your waggy-tailed friend in tow, new travel company Chien Bleu has hand-picked the best dog-friendly hotspots across the country.
