£46bn subsidy for UK banks in 2010
New research reveals the ongoing cost to taxpayers of propping up Britain's banks was £46bn last year. The figures were compiled by the New Economics Foundation which argues that "Protecting the welfare state for bankers is being put ahead of the welfare of wider society."
