Amazon's plans to let you pick up your shopping in town

Could Amazon help breathe life into the shopping centre? Internet shopping is hardly considered a friend to the high street. It has clearly taken a massive chunk of business away from traditional shops. However, Amazon's new initiative could bring the shoppers back onto the streets.

It is planning to install banks of lockers in shopping centres, so you can pop to the shops to pick up your goodies. But why? And what effect will it have?
