A woman gave passengers a rather different take on in-flight entertainment - by giving birth halfway through a trip from Milan to Paris.

The French woman went into labour on board Alitalia's flight AZ 3508 from Linate Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle.

According to ANSA, the plane landed just in time for medics to rush on board and safely complete the birth, to cheers and applause from fellow passengers.

Last month, a woman gave birth on a high-speed train travelling from Paris to Bordeaux.
