A holidaymaker managed to snap the very moment a huge bolt of lightning struck the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

France's most popular tourist attraction was struck as a storm swept through its capital last summer.

But, according to The Sun, the pic has only just emerged after it was published in a French magazine.

The Eiffel Tower is the most-visited paid monument in the world, and stands at 1,063ft tall - so it's no surprise that it gets the occasional lightning-lashing.

Other buildings that suffer lightning strikes as an occupational hazard include New York's Empire State Building and the Potala Palace in Tibet.
