Banking reforms: What's going on?

Dire warnings about the potential impact of plans to implement radical banking reforms on the industry have prompted government sources to state that any shake-up may not come into force for several years anyway.

Even though new banking legislation could be passed before 2015's scheduled general election, changes may not take effect until after that date, the sources said.
