Belgian GP: Vettel extends championship lead with win

Updated

Sebastian Vettel started from pole and crossed the line first at Spa-Francorchamps. Mark Webber's second place made it a perfect day for Red Bull Racing. Two laps from the end, Jenson Button snatched the final podium spot from Fernando Alonso.

Michael Schumacher also had a great day at the track that has played such an important role in his 20-year career. He moved up from last on the grid to finish fifth – one place ahead of team-mate Nico Rosberg who had got off to the best start of anyone. The junior Mercedes man passed Mark Webber and Felipe Massa on the grid and then nailed Lewis Hamilton and pole-sitter Sebastian Vettel after turn one. Hamilton was also passed by Massa early on.
