Three holidaymakers have been killed at a carnival in Spain after a ride 'broke away from the ground'.

The carnival ride, called Tarantula, was part of a fiesta in Villacanas, a town with a population of 9,000 that lies 50 miles east of Toledo.

Three Romanian men in their 20s and 30s were killed when the ride, which spins on an axis, threw them out. A teenager was also severely injured.

According to Spanish paper El Mundo, the accident happened when the ride broke away from the ground.
