Just like the Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, did three months before them, Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall are skipping a honeymoon and starting married life by getting straight back to work.

The couple married in Edinburgh yesterday, but they have postponed their honeymoon so that they can both train ahead of sporting events next week.

Zara will be competing in the Gatcombe Park horse trials and Mike is likely to play in an England rugby match against Wales.

The couple married in a private ceremony at Edinburgh's Cannongate Kirk, in front of the Queen and other senior royals.

Wedding guests included several famous names from the world of sport, including England rugby coach Martin Johnson, his predecessor Sir Clive Woodward and Scotland's coach Andy Robinson.

Mike Tindall also invited his former teammates Lawrence Dallaglio and Jonny Wilkinson.

The reception was held in the grounds of Holyroodhouse.
