Endurance races look tricky enough when you stand mesmerised at the side of the track or slump in front of Eurosport on your sofa for a few hours at a time, but most of us are safely tucked up in bed or at a bar when the really impressive stuff happens.

This on board camera from the recent Nurburgring 24 hours shows what it is like competing at race pace in the small hours in the pitch black in a Falken Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R.
