UK banks still struggling to lend to SMEs

Despite Mervyn King's efforts, new Bank of England data claims business lending slumped by 3.7% in the last three months, despite claims from lenders that they are lending. The facts tell another story. Particularly for SMEs, many of whom are nervous of even approaching a lender for fear of being penalised by severer terms.
