Toyota unveils new Yaris ahead of UK launch
Toyota has unveiled the all-new Yaris, and announced it will cost from £11,170 when it goes on sale later this year.
The manufacturer claims an increased level of quality throughout the cabin for the supermini and has added an affordable sat nav and audio system called Touch and Go.There will be a choice of three engines in the Yaris from launch; two petrols, a 1.0-litre and 1.33-litre, and an 89bhp 1.4-litre diesel. The latter will be the cleanest in terms of CO2, with emissions of 104g/km and a claimed fuel economy of 72.4mpg.
Even the larger petrol keeps CO2 output low at 118g/km when matched with the Multidrive S CVT automatic gearbox.
A choice of four trim levels is available, ranging from the basic T2 to TR, SR and T Spirit. The TR is expected to be the most popular, and comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and rear parking camera.
A new stereo system is available without the sat nav in all but the most basic models, and features a touch-sensitive screen, Bluetooth, a USB port and a rear parking camera. It can be upgraded to a sat nav system that also allows access to a range of connected information services.
The top of the range T Spirit adds more in the way of luxurious kit, featuring a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone climate control, automatic headlights and wipers and smart entry and start.
Prices start at £11,170 for the 1.0-litre petrol T2 three-door, and go up to £15,385 for the five-door T Spirit 1.33 with the Multidrive S gearbox.
