Learner drivers pay more as pass rate falls

Failed your driving test first time? Don't worry, so did I and according to the Department of Transport figures released over the weekend we're not alone. As in some examination centres less than 30 per cent of candidates passed first time.

This is on top of news that just 152 out of 340 test centres in England, Wales and Scotland recorded pass rates of 50 per cent or more. With the other 188 centres confirming that more than half of first timers were unsuccessful.
