Road test: Skoda Fabia VRS

Updated

The original Fabia VRS was a popular hot hatch choice due to its neat handling and 130bhp punch from the 1.9-litre TDi diesel engine.

Well now it's back after a five year break, this time with a 1.4-litre turbo-charged and supercharged petrol unit, that's also used in the SEAT Ibiza Cupra and the Volkswagen Polo GTi. To see if the Fabia can cut it against these Volkswagen Group rivals, I spent time with the £16,415 VRS and the £17,510 VRS S2000 edition.
