Jaguar unveils 150 tonne E-Type sculpture at Goodwood

Jaguar has unveiled the E-Type-inspired sculpture which will be the centrepiece of this weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The 28-metre high effort is constructed from steel tubes, and is intended to capture the iconic shape of arguably the best looking car ever made.
World-renowned sculptor Gerry Judah opted to recreate the design rather than include an E-Type in the installation because he believed the car was too 'small and delicate' to be hoisted into the air.

The result weighs in at 150 tonnes (or 122 Series 1 E-types) took a bridge building firm 10 days to erect on the grass in front of Goodwood House

Jaguar is celebrating fifty years of the E-Type this year, and visitors to the festival can expect to experience the full range of the firm's extensive heritage this weekend.
