Ford announces cutting-edge three-cylinder engine

Ford is to launch its first three cylinder engine in a bid to lower the fuel consumption of its smallest cars without mitigating performance.

With the new turbocharged 1.0-litre unit, Ford is promising the performance of a four-cylinder engine in a comprehensively downsized package.
